Volunteer Opportunities

If you can give us your time, we will provide training, encouragement and plenty of gratitude! Giving guided tours or welcoming visitors in the Museum is fun and educational. If you love history or art, are energetic and like meeting new people, then please consider becoming a docent or greeter in the Museum.

Contact us to become a volunteer or call 978.356.2811.

Spring Volunteer Clean-Up Party

Saturday, April 16th, 2011
9:00 am to 12:00 pm
Rain date: April 30th 9:00 am to 12:00pm

Believe it or not, Ipswich Museum will open for tour season in less than 2 months.  It's time to sweep away the detrius of Winter, along with the memories of the endless ice and snow; it's time to welcome Spring and time to open the garden gates for a glorious summer.

Daffodils and tulips are poking sharp points thorugh the frosty ground under the museum sign but sagging holiday greens linger on the planters, burlap still wraps some rose bushes, a trellis on the arbor is askew and windfall branches adorn the Whipple and Heard house lawns.

Your help is appreciated - heavy lifters, cart pushers, garden rakers, sweepers, stick-pickers: all are welcome and needed.  This event is free.

Enjoy cider, hot & cold, "caff" and "no-caff" coffee, and Marty's donuts!  At the Whipple and Heard House grounds.  For more information call 978. 356.2811 or email jihallberg@msn.com.

We thank our volunteers for their hardwork and dedication throughout the year at our annual Volunteer Appreciation Party!  The 2011 party will be in November.  Please check back for more information.
